Project Overview
Mercer Music at Capricorn represents the re-birth of Capricorn, not only as a recording studio, but also serving as an educational facility, museum, performance space, and music incubator to encourage new bands who may one day rise to prominence. This original studio and control room was restored to its 1970’s appearance. In addition, a new studio B and new control room with state-of-the-art digital recording equipment was added. The remainder of the facility includes a bar, museum, offices for staff and local music-related organizations, and rehearsal rooms (music incubator). The building required significant structural repairs and a complete restoration of the façade under Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Historic Preservation.
